The purpose of the SEOG Program is to provide grants to students who demonstrate a calculated financial need. Students enrolled as undergraduates but who have already received a bachelor’s degree are not eligible. An ORU student must be enrolled full time during the regular semester. This grant does not have to be repaid, unless the student withdraws from school and owes a refund. Eligible ORU students may receive up to $1000 in SEOG funds between the fall and spring terms. It is important for students to apply early to be considered for these funds. The individual amount of a student’s award is based on the availability of funds and the student’s demonstrated financial need. Students enrolled as undergraduates and have earned a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.
Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application at http://www.fafsa.gov. The information that you provide on your FAFSA will determine if you are eligible. If you are eligible, the school will include it in your Financial Aid package award offer.
You must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for SEOG. It is awarded on a first-apply, first awarded basis to the neediest group of Pell Grant recipients. Students who have not completed their FAFSA by the priority deadline (March 1) will be considered according to their need and application date as funds become available.
