What leadership scholarships are available at ORU?

ORU offers scholarships to students who serve as Resident Advisers (RA), Chaplains, or Academic Peer Advisers (APA) for their wing in the resident halls. Student Experience, Oracle, Yearbook, and Admissions Ambassador student staff may be eligible for funding as available.

How do I apply for a leadership scholarship?

Academic Peer Advisor Program (APA): Apply in the CAC

RA Program (RA): Apply with the Deans of Men/Women

Chaplain Program: Apply with the Spiritual Life Department

Is there a minimum GPA required to receive a leadership scholarship?

Yes. Participants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 to become an RA or Chaplain and a 3.0 to become an APA. Some awards are granted on probation, so check with your program director.

My leadership scholarship is not posted on Vision. Who do I contact?

Contact the director of your leadership program to make sure they have communicated your award to the Financial Aid Office. Please allow up to 3 business days for communication between the departments.

Are leadership scholarships available during the summer?

Only RA scholarships are available during the summer term. Summer RAs receive a scholarship covering room charges for each session served.

Can I receive a leadership scholarship in addition to other ORU Scholarships?

Yes, however the combined total of all ORU Scholarships may not exceed full tuition.

Students receiving 100% tuition scholarships may participate in the leadership programs but will not be compensated.
