How do I apply for tuition benefits?

Log into vision.oru.edu using your employee ID number and PIN. Click on ORU Tuition Benefits e-form, select and complete the Tuition Reduction form and click submit. The form is to be completed by an employee only.

Degree seeking undergraduate and non-degree seeking students are required to complete the Tuition Reduction form. Degree seeking graduate students are required to complete Educational Assistance form. For doctoral classes please contact ORU Human Resources at 918-495-7163 or e-mail hr@oru.edu

When is the deadline for submitting tuition benefits e-form?

There is no deadline for submitting tuition benefits e-form. However, in order to register on time and to avoid late registration fee, it is advised to submit forms no later than two-three weeks before Registration deadline.

How will I know if my form is approved?

Employee will receive an e-mail from ORU Human Resources department once form is approved/denied. Tuition benefits will be applied subsequently. Employees can also review forms submitted on Vision by clicking on ‘Check status of your submitted e-form’ link listed above the forms. If your form is pending for more than two business days at any department, kindly follow up with the individual who needs to approve.

How many hours does tuition benefits cover per semester?

Tuition benefit covers up to 6 hours per semester for employees. Semesters include Fall, Spring and Summer. For dependents or spouse, tuition benefit covers up to 18.5 hours during Fall and Spring and 12 during Summer and may be prorated based on employee’s date of hire. It is not required for employees and dependents to be accepted in a degree seeking program in order to receive tuition benefits.

Is there a minimum GPA requirement to continue to receive tuition benefits?

Student must make SAP(Satisfactory Academic Progress) in order to continue to receive tuition benefits.

No, tuition benefits cannot be combined with other institutional aid. Employees or dependents can receive either tuition benefits or other institutional aid whichever is higher but not both.

I see my tuition benefits has been applied, however, my ORU merit scholarship has been canceled. I would like to know why?

Am I required to file FAFSA in order to receive tuition benefits?

Filing FAFSA is not a requirement to receive tuition benefits, however it is encouraged to file FAFSA if you are enrolled in a degree seeking program. State and federal grants awarded based on FAFSA can help cover educational expense.

How often do I need to complete tuition benefits form?

You will need to complete one form per student using tuition benefits every semester student is enrolled. For Summer complete only one form per student enrolled for the entire Summer session.

My tuition benefits have been posted but not paid, I would like to know why.

Tuition benefits won’t pay until you submit an e-form each semester you are enrolled and it is approved even though it may have been posted for more than one semester.

I am receiving 100% tuition benefits and I have been selected for verification, am I required to complete verification?

You only need to complete verification if you are wanting to receive state/federal grants and loans.
